Thorogood’s 6-inch quick-release Chelsea style boots are made with durable full-grain black leather. These lightweight slip-on boots are ASTM F2413-18 certified for puncture resistance and are suitable for both men and women. They are available in either Made in the USA or imported options.

The boots feature a composite safety toe that protects your feet from impact and compression hazards. Despite the added safety, the design of the boots ensures that they remain light and flexible, making them one of the best safety toe options for men and women. They meet the ASTM F2413-18 Safety Toe Standards.

The mini lug outsole is made of polyurethane (PU) and is designed to provide flexibility and traction. The TPU mini lugs keep you steady on your feet, even on flat and slick surfaces. The translucent bottom of the outsole ensures that your boots remain scuff-free. The outsole also meets the ASTM F2913 Slip Test Standards.

These non-metallic work shoes also offer electrical hazard resistance and meet the ASTM 2892-18 EH Resistance Test Standards, keeping your feet protected.

The boots come with a removable single-density comfort insole that is strategically concentrated with polyurethane under the heel and ball strike zones. This insole absorbs impacts and wicks away moisture, providing a comfortable experience throughout the day.

With direct attach construction, the outsole is securely bound during formation, giving the station boots their lightweight durability and flexibility. The composite shank construction ensures that the boots maintain their shape under heavy duty on duty.

About the brand

In 1892, Albert H. Weinbrenner and his partner Joseph Peffer opened a cobblery in Milwaukee, serving "jobbing" trades. In 1900, the Albert H. Weinbrenner Co. was formed. The company became known for its leather cutting machines, and in 1916, they printed their first catalog. During WWI, Weinbrenner became a major supplier of boots to the US Army.

In 1938, the company entered safety footwear production, and in 1942, they celebrated 50 years in business by converting to all-military footwear during WWII. The military footwear also became popular with civilians. In 1943, the company workers organized under the International Boot & Shoe Workers Union and have maintained a positive relationship with management to this day.

Throughout the years, Weinbrenner continued to innovate, including the introduction of the Official Boy Scout Boot, the Hike n' Camp, in 1964. In 1988, the company was purchased by a local group, and in 1992, they celebrated their 100th anniversary.

In 2000, Weinbrenner employees took ownership of the company through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). In 2001, following the September 11 terror attacks, Weinbrenner donated 500 pairs of work boots to Ground Zero. In 2014, they introduced the 1892 Heritage line of handcrafted lifestyle boots.

In 2017, Weinbrenner celebrated its 125th anniversary and renewed its commitment to upgrading and improving domestic facilities. In 2022, they celebrate 130 years as a company with the opening of a new factory in Merrill, WI, and the launch of their first western wear product, Thorogood's Square Toe Wellingtons. Sales continue to increase as Thorogood gains popularity, with many new styles on the horizon.
