The removable ultimate shock absorption footbed on the Poron Comfort Cushion Insole provides maximum comfort. It uses air-permeable open cells to resist moisture and absorb shock, making these boots the most comfortable option for men at work.

From the brand: In 1892, Albert H. Weinbrenner and Joseph Peffer opened a cobblery in Milwaukee, serving "Jobbing" trades. In 1900, Albert H. Weinbrenner Co. was formed. By 1916, they had more leather cutting machines than any other company in the U.S. In 1917, they introduced the "Job-fitted" concept and became a major supplier of boots to the U.S. Army in WWI.

In 1938, the company began producing safety footwear. In 1942, they celebrated 50 years in business and converted to producing military footwear for the duration of WWII. Military footwear also became popular with civilians during this time.

In 1943, the company workers organized under the International Boot & Shoe Workers Union. The management and workers have maintained an outstanding relationship since then.

In 1964, they introduced The Official Boy Scout Boot: The Hike n' Camp, which became their best-selling boot of all time. In 1988, the company was purchased by a local group, and in 1992, they celebrated their 100th year in business.

In 2000, Weinbrenner employees took ownership of the company through an ESOP. In 2001, they donated durable work boots to Ground Zero after the September 11 terror attacks. In 2014, they introduced the 1892 Heritage line of handcrafted, lifestyle boots.

In 2017, Weinbrenner celebrated its 125th Anniversary and renewed its commitment to upgrading domestic facilities and improving manufacturing methods. In 2022, they celebrated 130 years as a company with the opening of a new factory in Merrill, WI, and the launch of their first western wear product, Thorogood's Square Toe Wellingtons.

In 2023, sales continue to increase as Thorogood gains popularity and expands with many new styles on the horizon.

SAFETY TOE BOOTS: All boots with a safety toe, whether steel or composite, meet or exceed impact and compression testing standards. Impact testing requires the boots to retain a .500 inch or greater clearance after a 75 foot-pounds nominal impact. Compression testing requires the boots to retain a .500 inch or greater clearance after a compression force of 2500 lbs.

ELECTRIC HAZARD: These boots are constructed or manufactured with electric shock-resisting soles and heels capable of withstanding 18,000 volts at 60 Hz for 1 minute without current flow or leakage exceeding 1.0 milliamperes under dry conditions.

SLIP-RESISTING: Our footwear meets ASTM F3445-21 industry criteria for slip resistance.

OIL-RESISTING: The outsole is designed to withstand and reduce damage caused by oil.
